Tackling the right problem

    • Austin is widely promoted as a diverse city, yet there exists a sentiment among African Americans of being marginalized in the discourse.
    • U.S. Census Bureau statistics reveal that Black individuals constitute less than 8% of Austin’s population. The Black Austin ® movement aims to address this disparity by focusing on economic equity and fostering connection through the creation of cultural and economic opportunities.
    • This involves facilitating access to information, job opportunities, and entrepreneurship within the community.
